With the influence of globalization trend, the problems of global economy and environment are exposed more obviously. Therefore, the United Nations formulated the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to completely solve the social, economic, and environmental development problems in a comprehensive way from 2015 to 2030. This goal increases public participation in international affairs and can be worked towards through changes in oneself.

Sustainable development is not only supported by companies, but also by society as it involves many interests. The sustainability Report 2021 of Woolworths shows that Woolworths has energized an additional 62 solar sites across F21 with over 14,000 kW capacity by 2021, as one of the Sustainable Development achievements. That brings its goal of 100% green electricity by 2025 to nearly 40%. In addition, they signed first Purchase Power Agreement. Woolworths chief executive Brad Banducci also express that the move carries the support and expectations of customers and shareholders.

Furthermore, profitability as the company's purpose has not been affected and still increasing. According to the 2021 Annual report provided by Woolworth, the company's total sales for the 12 months ended June 30, 2021, increased by 5.7%, recording A $67.278 billion. That was faster than rival Coles.

In conclusion, businesses can be sustainable and are currently in the process of achieving SDGs, they are gaining benefits from it and creating value for society. However, there are still many technical obstacles that need to be solved in the future through time promotion and exploration in the technical field. Moreover, the contradiction or sacrifice among various goals in the sustainable Development Goals will also be the place that the company needs to weigh, especially the part of environmental pollution. In addition, companies need to make sustainability a core concept rather than a marketing tool.
